12.4 AT+CMGF Select SMS Message Format

Description: The write command specifies the input and output format of the short messages.

Syntax: Test Command: AT+CMGF=?

Response: +CMGF: (list of supported<mode>s)

Read Command: AT+CMGF?

Response: +CMGF: <mode>

Write Command: AT+CMGF=<mode>

Response: OK

Parameter:

<mode> This parameter can be stored with AT&W and can be displayed with AT&V.

0 PDU mode. Default. This is the factory default value and can be restored to '0' with AT&F. It is

also the defaulted value if the parameter is omitted (0 will be assumed).

1 Text mode

Notes:

• This command is not PIN protected.

• This command is supported in airplane mode.

12.5 AT+CMGL List SMS Messages from Preferred Store

Description: The write command returns messages with status value <stat> from message storage <mem1>

to the TE. If the status of the message is ‘received unread’, the status in the storage changes to

‘received read’.

The execute command is the same as the write command with the given default for <stat>.

Syntax: Test Command: AT+CMGL=?

Response: +CMGL: (list of supported <stat>s)

Exec Command: AT+CMGL

Response: +CMGL: (see write command for default of <stat>)

Write Command: AT+CMGL=<stat>

Response: Output if text mode (AT+CMGF=1) and command successful:

For SMS- SUBMITs and/or SMS-DELIVERs

+CMGL: <index>, <stat>, <oa>/<da>, [<alpha>], [<scts>][, <tooa>/<toda>,

<length>]
